Our commitments
Excitement in learning is at the heart of Loughton School. What do we mean by excitement in learning? Our 15 commitments provide a framework within which we work. They underpin all we do and you will find references to them throughout this site.
Every child who spends four years at Loughton School
- Experiences a full and varied curriculum
- Enjoys themed weeks each year
- Learns French and has an opportunity to practise it with native speakers and/or visit France
- Progresses at least two National Curriculum levels in each of the core subjects measured by SATs (Reading, Writing and Mathematics) or reaches educational targets agreed by parents
- Has the opportunity to go on one or more residential trips
- Has the opportunity to play a musical instrument and sing in the school choir
- Takes part in a performance each year
- Has the opportunity to take part in a wide range of extra curricular activities
- Has the opportunity to represent the school at a sporting event or at a creative arts event
- Takes part in national competitions
- Has their work showcased either in print or on this site
- Becomes an active citizen
- Experiences and respects a variety of cultures
- Has clear and positive memories of time spent at school
- Works in a healthy, safe and caring environment
