ParentMail

ParentMail is a simple but powerful school-to-home communications system. We are able to send you texts and emails to inform you of cancelled afterschool activites, inform you if trips are slightly late on returning back to school and even send you newsletters via email.

Please complete the form which you can download from our website. You will find this in "What's happening" (your childs year group/letters) or alternatively call into reception to collect a form.

How do I order items of school uniform?

You can either come to the school office and complete an order form, or alternatively you can email your order to the school. The orders take approximately 10 working days to get to you.  

For busy times of year - like September - it is best to order in advance.

Who provides the after school care?

Can I ride my bike to school?

Yes, but you must first fill in a permission form and hand it to reception. Click here

My son/daughter is interested in playing a musical instrument. How can I get him/her onto the waiting list?

Write a note to Mr Behrens (or email him) letting him know which instrument your child is interested in learning. He or she will then go onto the waiting list for that instrument.

If my child needs to go for a Hospital or Dental appointment within school hours, what should i do?

Please put a brief message in the home school diary to inform the teacher of the time that they will need to leave the classroom to attend the appointment. You will need to sign your child out at the reception desk and sign them back in on return to school.

If my child needs medication within school hours, what should I do?

If you have been given medication by your doctor(prescibed medicine) then we are able to give your child the medicine in school, after you have completed a medical form. This form can be collected from reception or printed off here. All medicine from the doctor must have a label on.

If your child is unwell and needs to take Non prescription medication such as Calpol for a headache or medicine for a sore throat then a Parent/Guardian/or Carer would need to administer this themselves by coming into the school.

What time to the children break for lunch?

Year 3 and 4 children break for lunch at 12.20 - 13.20

Year 5 and 6 children break for lunch at 12.10 - 13.10

How do I report that my child is unwell and will not be attending school?

Please ring the designated telephone answer machine - 01908 235150 and leave a brief message regarding your child (ren).

If your child has been sick within the past 48 hours then our school policy states that the child must be kept at home.

Do I receive a reduced rate on music lessons if I am on income support?

If you recieve any of the following benefits, Income Support, Income - based Jobseekers Allowance, Support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an income (as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) that does not exceed £15,575, you may be entitled to pay a reduced rate of £11.00. If you are recieving any of the above benefits, please send along your payment, a copy of your certificate/proof of entitlement to the office for verification, if you have not already done so.

Who provides the school hot lunches?

Cygnet currently provides Loughton School with hot school meals.

The menus are given out on Fridays, to be returned to the school hall on Tuesday of each week by 10am.
