Harvest assembly

Thank you so much to those who joined us to celebrate our harvest assembly with us.

We were reminded how fortunate we really are and received an overwhelming number of food donations from our families which will go to the food cupboard in MK.

In our fully packed year 3 and 4 harvest assembly, we had a wonderful retelling of Peter Rabbit and a harvest poem shared by the children. In our year 5 and 6 assembly we learned a lot about harvest traditions around the world and in other cultures.

We give our thanks to Rachel, our guest speaker from Bridgebuilder, who got us all laughing with a blind fruit description and taste-test challenge. Well done to Mrs Green, Mr Woodham, Mrs Mahoney and Mrs Brownlow who participated! The game ended with a heart-felt message to remind us that we are all beautiful on the inside and Rachel used this wonderful quote from Roald Dahl's story, The Twits: If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.

Thank you to the parents for all of your supportive comments about our harvest assemblies. Some of these are shared with you below -

I would like to share a quick note of thanks to acknowledge that I thoroughly enjoyed the year 3 & 4 assembly on Tuesday. A lot of thought had gone into the assembly. I especially thought Rachel's time was very special. Encouraging the children to love and think about what's on the inside, was really nice.

I just wanted to share some feedback today about the harvest assembly. I thought that having Rachel there was so absolutely brilliant. What a great inspiration. She took me back to when I was a child. What she spoke about will stick with the children - beauty is on the inside. I came away really thinking about everything she spoke about.
