Take One Picture 2016
Take One Picture Week
During the week beginning 6 June Loughton School ran its annual Take One Picture Week. The picture from the National Gallery that we studied this year was ‘Roman Triumph’ by Peter Paul Reubens. As always, it was a great success that was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and children alike. The painting is very busy and stimulated a range of exciting creative projects across the school. Parades, processions, soundscapes, elephants and other wild animals featured in a lot of the work the children produced. Children enjoyed sewing, clay work, weaving, painting, making music and much, much more.
On the Friday afternoon all the children in the school walked round and looked at one another’s work. It was quite a spectacle! The afternoon was launched with Year 5’s loud and dynamic procession. Year 3 showed us their procession of miniature elephants. Year 4’s sewn collage was amazing and we were all blown away by the way the Year 6 children posed in role for photographs and reproduced the painting with themselves in it.
Well done to all the children and staff for their amazing effort during the week. Click any of the photographs below to see a slideshow of the work displayed for the whole school walk.
