After a very uneventful journey to Dover with a toilet stop at Thurrock services, we arrived with plenty of time to spare and were speedily booked onto an earlier ferry. The children loved the time on the ferry, bonding with their friends and eating some of their food. The crossing was fairly smooth and we were really lucky to see seals on the beach as we approached Calais port. We did a short hop to Cap Gris Nez for a walk through the nature reserve to the lighthouse and a beautiful view across to the white cliffs of the English coast.

On arrival at La Maison aux Draps, the children enjoyed some football, badminton and time outside before settling into their rooms. They have all eaten a good dinner of pizza, salad, lasagne, cheese and doughnuts and are about to embark on some team games. Check back tomorrow for day two!
