Fancy a trip to Saint Lucia?

We certainly do!

This week the children have returned to school enthused about our new theme: The Americas.  In English, at the beginning of the week, the children took on either the role of a travel agent or the role of a customer who was looking to book a holiday to Saint Lucia.  Children in both roles learnt lots about the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia whilst having lots of fun.

Each class have looked at what is needed to create a successful holiday brochure and understand the importance of both alliteration and persuasive vocabulary.  They have been working collaboratively to generate words and phrases to hook the reader in and keep them captivated.  The children have started to use their knowledge and research to write their own holiday brochure.  We are looking forward to reading their completed work.
