Science Unplugged

In our science lessons, we are continuing to explore the digestive system.

As part of this learning the children have taken part in an "unplugged lesson" which aims to give them the opportunity to learn without any technology at all. HB8's lesson took place outside this week and as you can see from the photo - it got really messy!

Each group were given a range of materials and were set the task of demonstrating how the body digests a biscuit. The children had plastic sandwich bags, a pair of tights, paper tissue, a biscuit and a glass of squash. Luckily most of the mess was contained in the trays!

Everyone agreed that we should definitely switch off the interactive whiteboards and take our learning outside more often.
