Dear Parents and Carers,

This term, Year 3 have been exploring the exciting world of coding using Scratch, a fun and interactive platform designed to teach children the basics of programming.

The children have learnt how to create and control their own sprites, using simple code blocks to make them move, change direction, and respond to keyboard inputs. They’ve also designed and customised backdrops, giving their projects a creative flair.

It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they experiment and improve their work through trial and error—just like real coders! These early experiences are building their confidence and laying the foundation for future computing skills.

We’re very proud of their progress so far—why not ask your child to show you what they’ve been working on?
