Geography Walk

On Friday morning, Year 3 went on a walk around Loughton focusing on geography skills and the history of the local area.

They were very interested in reading signs on buildings and houses to discover what they had been used for in the past. The children were particularly surprised to find out how old some parts of the village are! We visited a lot of landmarks along the way, including two churches, the memorial hall, the village green and the old school. Some children used compasses to help navigate, and we plotted our route on a map when we got back to school. Overall, it was a lovely morning in the sunshine exploring our local area!
