Camouflaging moths

Learning Through Camouflage: Exploring Moth: An Evolution Story
The children enjoyed diving into Moth: An Evolution Story, a beautifully illustrated book that introduces the idea of evolution in an engaging and age-appropriate way. As they followed the story of the peppered moth, the children learned how animals can change over time to better survive in their environment.
To bring the learning to life, the children took part in a hands-on experience session. They created and camouflaged paper moths, carefully placing them around the classroom on different backgrounds. The children loved testing how well their moths blended in and discovering which ones were easiest—or hardest—to spot.
This interactive activity sparked lots of curiosity, discussion, and excitement, helping the children develop a deeper understanding of camouflage, adaptation, and survival in a fun and memorable way.
