This week, Year 5 stepped back in time to the Viking era during our exciting Viking Day! We were joined by a visiting Viking actor who brought history to life with fascinating facts, hands-on activities and plenty of enthusiasm.

Throughout the day, we learnt all about Viking life — from the food they ate and the games they played to the jobs they had and the weapons and tools they used each day. We even discovered how the Viking era began and eventually came to an end.

The day was packed with interactive experiences, including learning Viking war chants, grinding grain, lifting real chainmail and playing traditional Viking games. Everyone had a fantastic time immersing themselves in the world of the Vikings, and we left the day full of new knowledge and excitement for our history topic!
