This term, Year 5 have truly shone in their writing! We began by creating persuasive leaflets encouraging others to reduce, reuse, recycle and do their bit to protect our planet. The children used powerful language and eye-catching images to inspire positive change and promote sustainability.

Linking to our exciting space theme, the children then stepped into the shoes of astronauts aboard Apollo 13, writing detailed and dramatic log entries from the crew’s perspective. Their work captured the tension, teamwork and bravery of the mission beautifully, showing a deep understanding of both the historical events and the human emotions behind them.

It’s been a fantastic half term of creativity, purpose and imagination in Year 5 writing!
