The year six children had produced some brilliant descriptive poems, based on their learning in science, and Erin was celebrated for her recount from the December independent writing based on our book "Letters from the Lighthouse."

The year five children had written a mix of narratives: an adventure story set in space and a quest story including a vicious villain and an honourable hero. Both pieces were based on books that we have been reading in our guided reading lessons and displayed some excellent use of descriptions and speech to show character and move the story on.

All the children had made huge improvements in handwriting, language and punctuation and their work will be displayed in our creative writing corridor.
