  • Dragon Projects!

    This half term, Year 3 were challenged with a homework project that asked them to create a dragon. There was a brilliant variety of work on display and it was clear the children had all worked extremely hard. Everyone enjoyed touring around the year group seeing what each other had created. It was particularly fantastic to see some of their ideas from our recent English unit on Dragon fact files brought to life.

    In maths this week, Year 3 have started a new unit all about measurement! We started our learning with a lesson practising how to measure accurately. We used a meter stick and tape measure to measure items in our classroom and even ourselves! We've since been comparing the lengths of different objects and deciding whether it is best to measure something in metres(m), centimetres (cm) or millimetres (mm).

  • Plant Investigations

    In theme for the past few weeks, Year 3 have been learning all about plants! We learnt about the parts of a flower and their lifecycles. We investigated seed dispersal, pollinators and plant adaptations.

    We completed our unit with an investigation into what plants need to survive. We grew cress with three different quantities of water to see if too much water could stop a plant from growing. They have all loved watching the plants grow!
