Year 4 Celebrate National Poetry Day

Year 4 Celebrate National Poetry Day

Today Year 4 joined in the celebrations for National Poetry Day with lots of energy, enthusiasm and creativity!

As part of our activities, the children have been learning and performing the lively poem “Please Do Not Feed the Animals.” This morning, each class had the chance to perform the poem to their peers. It was wonderful to see the children grow in confidence, projecting their voices clearly and using actions to add humour and character. Their performances showed not only how well they had learnt the poem, but also how much they enjoyed sharing it together.

Performing poetry is a fantastic way for children to build their speaking and listening skills, while also giving them the chance to appreciate the rhythm, humour and playfulness of words. We are so proud of the effort every child put into this activity, and it was a real treat to see the smiles and laughter that the poem inspired.

Well done Year 4 – you truly captured the spirit of National Poetry Day
