Exploring India

Happy New Year and welcome back to all of our Year 4 families. It has been wonderful to hear the children sharing their stories about a fun-filled Christmas break. As the Year 4 teaching team, we have been extremely impressed with how quickly the children have settled back into their learning and the enthusiasm they have shown since returning to school.
As part of our creative curriculum, all learning this term is linked to India. The children are thoroughly enjoying our Geography unit, where they are learning about both human and physical geography, including identifying where India is located and exploring key features such as the River Ganges and the Himalayas. They have also been captivated by our new class text, The Girl Who Stole an Elephant. During English lessons, the children have begun retelling parts of the story, and it has been wonderful to see their imaginations blossom and their rich descriptions captivate us.
We are all looking forward to the term ahead and to watching the children’s inquisitive nature continue to grow.
