TTRS

Year 4 have been exercising their multiplication muscles and getting their maths juices flowing this week by taking part in an unofficial times table check. At the end of the year, all children from year 4 (across the country) will complete a times tables check.

We have been preparing our students by giving them the opportunity to practice this using TTRS. This is the second time that year 4 have taken part and is a great way for us to see if there are any gaps in their knowledge.

Each week, as part of their homework, the children are encouraged to take part in the battle of the bands on TTRS. This practice will ensure their multiplication recall is much smoother and will give them a confidence boost to succeed in the times table check.

We recommend all pupils practice their multiplications for at least 10 minutes daily, to keep the knowledge fresh in their minds, as well as promote better retrieval of their times table facts. TTRS is a fun way for children to practice in short bursts, mixing multiplication and division facts to strengthen our pupils' understanding.

Keep up the good work year 4!
