Mock SATs and more!

This week, we are incredibly proud of our Year 6 children who have completed their very first set of mock SATs. They approached each paper with determination, resilience and positivity – showing just how ready they are for the challenges ahead.
But it hasn’t been all tests and revision! Alongside their hard work, Year 6 have enjoyed a variety of exciting and creative activities. Inspired by the beautiful picture book Journey by Aaron Becker, the children took part in a task that encouraged them to use their imagination in wonderful ways - creating and imagining their own world. They also linked their guided reading text, Letters from the Lighthouse, to a design project where they created and built their very own lighthouses – showcasing both their creativity and their problem-solving skills.
This week also marked National Poetry Day, which Year 6 celebrated by exploring Paper Boats by the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. After reading and performing the poem with a partner, some children even had the opportunity to make their own paper boats, bringing the words of the poem to life.
It has been a truly inspiring and memorable week for Year 6 – filled with hard work, creativity and a love of learning. We are so proud of everything they have achieved already this term, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
