World Book Day 2026 was a wonderful celebration in Year 6, and across the school, with pupils arriving in a fantastic range of costumes that brought their favourite characters to life. Throughout the day, the children took part in different reading activities, including sharing teachers’ favourite books—featuring some very special editions of The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien—performing poetry, and creating their own personalised bookmarks.

We were also delighted to welcome so many parents into school at the beginning and end of the day. Their time spent reading with the children helped to reinforce the joy and importance of books, and added something truly special to the celebration. It was a day filled with imagination, creativity, and a shared love of reading across our school community.
