Mercredi

The children have really used their French language skills today.

This morning, we headed to the stylish seaside town of Le Touquet to buy ice creams, crepes, gaufres (waffles) and assorted souvenirs. After a quick lunch stop in Etaples (with a chance for a quick game in the park) we headed to Boulogne which was looking amazing, decked out in flowers and natural sculptures as the town prepares to welcome the Tour de France at the start of July. We all took part in a town trail where we had to answer a series of questions to visit the landmarks in the old town hidden behind the ancient walls. Dinner tonight was delicious as always: chicken and rice followed by a traditional tarte aux pommes and a disco which everyone enjoyed.
