Multicultural Day in year 3

What an unforgettable Multicultural Day at Loughton School! 🌍✨

Year 3 was bursting with colour, creativity and culture as we celebrated the incredible diversity within our community. The day began with stunning Aboriginal dot art, where children painted vibrant fish and geckos using traditional techniques — a creative window into one of the world’s oldest cultures.

In one Year 3 class, pupils discovered something truly special: their class represents 17 different cultures! To honour this, families brought in a spectacular array of traditional dishes, transforming the shared area into a global feast. The air was filled with the delicious smells of home-cooked food — from spicy curries and sweet pastries to rice dishes, dumplings, and more. Children eagerly tasted new flavours and proudly introduced their classmates to foods from their own cultures.

The school was a kaleidoscope of colour as pupils arrived dressed in beautiful traditional clothing, each outfit telling a unique story. The excitement built throughout the day and culminated in a dazzling multicultural fashion show, where children walked the runway with pride, confidence, and joy.

Multicultural Day was more than just a celebration — it was a powerful reminder of how much we learn from one another when we come together. 🌟
