STEM week

Year 4’s STEM week was a huge success!

The children spent a week enthusiastically learning about Roman artillery. More specifically, marshmallow catapults. They had the opportunity to build on their prior knowledge from year 3, using hot glue guns and hacksaws. The children then tested their catapults by competing against one another to see whose catapult was the most accurate and whose could launch a marshmallow the furthest. The children were thrilled that some of the parents took the opportunity to come in and support them in class.

“STEM week was amazing because I liked the opportunity to design an ancient Roman catapult. I also enjoyed changing the design a bit to make it like my partner and I’s personality!”  - Freya, HB6

“It was really fun and it upgraded my STEM skills.”  -  Dominic, HB6
