Boudicca and Roman Drama Lessons

Year 4 have been immersing themselves in the different characters of the Iron Age!

This week year 4 have been busy stretching their acting muscles.

In the creative arts lessons, children have been taking on the roles of Roman soldiers in a short play. They have been learning how to read stage directions, acting cues and a number of facial expressions to become a character.

This week they were able to put these skills to use during their theme lessons, adding some dramatic flair to their history learning. The children had the opportunity to embrace a number of characters, from a Roman slave, a Roman soldier, all the way to Boudicca herself and they made decisions on how these characters would think, feel and react when placed in certain situations. This led to some great discussions, lots of outstanding teamwork and a few lively performances.
