This term, we have been learning about sound and how we hear it. The children have been busy researching and experimenting with how sounds are formed and transmitted. They’ve learnt about parts of the ear and how sound waves move via the air into our ears. The children learnt about vibrations and are able to distinguish between high and low-pitched sounds. In one of our experiments, the children used a vibrating fork to explore what happens when you dip it in water. They observed the sound as it moved through the water, making circles.
