The Queen's 90th Birthday Picnic
On Monday 13 June we were very worried about the inclement weather. It was the day we planned to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday with a whole school picnic . In the end we decorated the school hall and the covered area at the front of the school with our red, white and blue bunting and balloons. The weather was kind to us and we had our picnic unhindered on the grass at the front of the school. As always the children were exceptionally well behaved and enthusiastic. Children and staff dressed in red, white and blue for the day, and many children brought food to share with their friends. There was an abundance of picnic blankets, picnic baskets and union flags. E veryone sang the National Anthem. Smiling faces shone out throughout the whole event as we listened to music from the 1920s and 1930s collated by Mr George.
