Christingle

In the spirit of the festive season, our pupils spent time exploring a much-loved tradition that encouraged both creativity and thoughtful discussion.

Last week, our pupils took part in a lovely festive tradition as they created their own Christingles in class. The children learnt about the meaning behind each part of the Christingle—the orange ball representing the world, the red ribbon symbolising love and hope, the four cocktail sticks were indicative of the four seasons, the sweets reminding us of the gifts of creation, and the candle shining as a symbol of light.

With great concentration (and some excitement over being able to eat the sweets after), the children assembled their Christingles beautifully. They enjoyed discussing the symbolism, sharing their own experiences, and reflecting on what the Christmas season means to them.

We are so proud of the care, creativity, and enthusiasm shown by all the pupils. Their finished Christingles are a lovely reminder of the importance of light, kindness, and community at this time of year.

The children even took part in an inspiring and inclusive Christingle assembly led by Bridgebuilder, where all the children were able to share their knowledge and learn something new.

We hope that everyone experiences a little bit of light this festive season.
