Paul Dorney visits our school to read to to the children from time to time which we all love! He has recorded a series of storytime sessions with permission from the publishers for the children across all Milton Keynes schools to watch and enjoy.
This week we have been busy installing our new outdoor fitness gym!
Please continue reading to watch our acts of kindness video. Well done children of Loughton School.
Rapunzel – The Lockdown Pantomime
‘IT’S BEHIND YOU…!’
Just after lunchtime on Wednesday the 16th December, the whole school sat down to enjoy a live stream performance of ‘Rapunzel – The Lockdown Pantomime’. Lots of laughter, cheering and booing ensued and clearly the children enjoyed themselves:
Once again, as is Loughton School’s tradition, we asked for your help to support disadvantaged families at Christmas, by giving new toys, games or books to the Milton Keynes Family Centres
Every child took part in the annual cross country competition to earn points for their house.
To celebrate the end of maths week and our times table rockstar competition, all children and staff were invited to dress up as rockstars on Friday 13 November. This day also coincided with Children in Need so we invited donations to be bought in for the charity and raised over £230! Well done to everyone who joined in - you rock!
We were so pleased to receive the picturenews impact award for the children's contributions towards creating a positive impact on our world.
To help us celebrate our upcoming (virtual) harvest assembly and give to those in need at such a challenging time, a whole school homework project was set to donate an item to the local foodbank (attached below). This could be done simply as most MK supermarkets have a food donation trolly/box. We have had lots of photos sent in - well done to everyone who has made a thoughtful donation!
Here are some of the photos we were sent:
What a fantastic first week back we have had at Loughton School. The children (and parents) have been wonderful at learning all our new routines and the school has been full of smiles and learning.
This week, each class across the school engaged in Take One Book week, with each class spending a whole week on activities all related to one book.
Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their PE kit on their allocated days commencing next week (Monday 14th September). Remember they will still need a coat if the weather is wet/cold.
