Geography enrichment

Children at Loughton School are being given the opportunity to explore different aspects of the curriculum in more depth.

These 'enrichment' afternoons began on Friday with geography.  Children from across the school took part in a variety of activities to enhance their learning and enjoyment of the subject.  They competed against each other to identify different countries and continents using just the outlines, and then raced against each other to match up different map symbols with the corresponding meaning.  During the afternoon, they developed their geographical knowledge as well as improved their team work and communication skills. Oscar in Year 6 said, 'I really liked the geography afternoon because it was really fun. We got to match up map symbols and I really enjoyed the running! The hardest part was the country quiz.'
