In year 5 this week, our theme lessons have been about investigating forces. We have learnt about gravity, air resistance and water resistance. We learnt about how gravity keeps the earth orbiting the sun and what zero gravity would be like. We built parachutes to test the impact of surface area on air resistance and how quickly an object would fall. We then used what we had learnt to consider what shapes would be the most streamline when moving through water and air. We are going to use this knowledge to help us with our upcoming bottle rocket project
