Year 5 have been enjoying their new maths topic of decimals this week.

They have drawn upon and developed their knowledge of place value whilst learning and understanding the composition of decimal numbers – particularly tenths, hundredths and thousandths – and they have learnt how to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.

The year 5 teachers have been impressed with how well the children have been grasping this mathematical concept and how much work they have been completing during lessons, with many of the children in the classes being able to complete the challenge tasks.

Well done year 5, keep up the good work as we move on to rounding decimals and introducing percentages, next week.
