Secret war diaries...

Diary of an evacuee!

Year 6 have really shown their creative side this week! They have been writing a secret war diary in English from the perspective of a World War Two evacuee. Inspired by the book 'My Secret War Diary' by Marcia Williams, the children have created their own diaries describing life as an evacuee. They have worked hard to include the features learned over the last few weeks in their sentence stacking lessons (changing between tenses, using repetition and emotions). They have also spent time illustrating their diaries and including added extras such as secret flaps! Please see the photos below of their brilliant diary writing.
