This week, Year 4 enjoyed an exciting and memorable visit to the Caldecotte Centre, where they took part in a range of outdoor adventurous activities. The trip provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to try something new, challenge themselves and develop important life skills.

Classes HB5 and HB8 took part in wall climbing, archery and dragon boat rowing. The wall climbing tested their strength, determination and resilience as they scaled the climbing wall, encouraging one another all the way to the top. During archery, the children practised their focus and precision, showing great patience as they aimed for the targets. Dragon boat rowing was a highlight for many, as the children worked together in teams, paddling in time and communicating effectively to move the boat across the water.

Meanwhile, HB6 and HB7 experienced bushcraft, abseiling, and dragon boat rowing. In bushcraft, the children explored outdoor survival skills, including building shelters and learnt how to make fire! Abseiling was an exciting challenge that required bravery and trust, as the chldren carefully descended from height with the support of trained instructors and their peers. Like their classmates, they also enjoyed the fun and teamwork involved in dragon boat rowing.

Throughout the day, all of the children showed fantastic enthusiasm and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones. They supported one another, built confidence, and demonstrated excellent teamwork and communication skills. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and proud moments as the children achieved things they might not have thought possible at the start of the day.

Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and Year 4 returned with great memories, new skills and a real sense of accomplishment.
