Last week, we launched our exciting new history topic all about the Iron Age Celts, and the children have already shown great enthusiasm for learning about this fascinating period in history!

So far, the children have explored what life was like for Celtic families and discovered how they lived in roundhouses. They were amazed to learn that whole families shared one large living space, where they would eat, sleep, work, and spend time together. We discussed how a fire pit was placed in the centre of the roundhouse to provide warmth, light, and a place for cooking meals, helping families stay comfortable throughout the year.

The children have also been learning about the brave Celtic warriors and the important role they played in Celtic society. They investigated the different tools and weapons used by the Celts and discussed how these helped them in daily life and in battle. The children were particularly interested in finding out how these tools were made and how warriors prepared to defend their tribes.

We are looking forward to continuing our Celtic journey over the coming weeks as we explore their traditions, beliefs, artwork, and way of life in even more detail. It has been wonderful to see the children's curiosity and excitement as they begin to uncover the secrets of this remarkable civilisation.
