World War Two – What Would Transpire?

This week, Year 6...

This week, Year 6  have started our learning journey back into the 20th Century and second World War. The children have been exploring the complicated reasons that the world war began, which nations and leaders were involved and the impact it had on a Europe still nursing its wounds after the Great War. While in guided reading they are discovering more about the day-to-day life of children during war time, this week reading about air raids, rationing and entertainment during the 1930s and 40s. The children have been keen to share their knowledge and family history of the era – it has been illuminating to hear from our diverse cohort about their great-grandparents’ experiences across the globe.

It would be wonderful if you could take the time to share more with them and we can all gain a broader perspective on the period.
