In week 4, Year 6 became scientists as they explored light and its properties through a series of practical investigations.
The children investigated how light travels, gathering evidence to show that it moves in straight lines. They then explored reflection and discovered how mirrors can be positioned to change the direction of light before putting their learning into practice by making their own periscopes.
Throughout the week, the children used scientific vocabulary with increasing confidence and produced clear light diagrams to explain their observations and findings. It was fantastic to see them working scientifically, asking questions, testing ideas and using evidence to explain what they had learnt.
