This week has been a busy and exciting one for Year 6! Alongside completing their Mock SATs, pupils have also been putting their creativity and teamwork skills to the test through a fantastic Design and Technology project.
Working in small groups, the children designed, built and decorated their own lighthouses. The project linked closely to several areas of our current learning, including our Guided Reading text, Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll. As part of their Science learning, Year 6 have recently been exploring how light travels and how we see objects. Next week, they will build on this knowledge as they begin learning about electricity and circuits, making this DT project a perfect bridge between the two topics.
We are incredibly proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown by all the children. Their finished lighthouses are a wonderful reflection of their creativity and teamwork. We can't wait to see what they create next!
