Year 5 Get Creative with a Stomp Workshop!

Our Year 5 pupils had an exciting and energetic day when they took part in a fantastic Stomp Workshop, discovering that music can be made from almost anything!

Inspired by the world-famous Stomp performers, the children explored how everyday objects such as pots, pans, bins, tins and even tennis balls can be transformed into musical instruments. They were amazed to learn that items usually found around the home can create a variety of rhythms, beats and sounds.

Throughout the workshop, pupils experimented with different objects, testing how they could be struck, tapped, bounced and combined to produce unique sounds. They quickly developed their confidence as performers, working together to create exciting rhythmic patterns and musical sequences.

The workshop provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore music in a new and engaging way, while developing important skills such as collaboration, concentration and self-expression. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and imagination shine as they turned ordinary objects into extraordinary musical instruments.

Ask your child about their favourite sound from the workshop and see what musical instruments you can create from everyday items at home!
