Writing Assemblies - Year 5 & 6

Mrs Woodards and Mrs Solloway were thrilled to be able to celebrate some amazing year 5 & 6 writers this week at our half-termly writing celebration assemblies.

We were very impressed by the constantly improving quality of presentation across all the genres of writing. Two of our year 6 children had produced careful and interesting fact files about the Maya civilisation which has been a major part of our history learning over the past weeks. We were also excited about the quality of the narrative fiction produced in conjunction with our guided reading lessons on Katherine Rundell's popular book "The Explorer" which follows four characters on their escape to Manaus after their plane crashes in the Amazon rainforest.

Year 5 shared 2 of their best explanation texts about the circulatory system which linked to their science learning and Mrs Woodards also shared some of the best work which had been completed in the lessons over the past couple of weeks in preparation for the children writing their newspaper reports.

We loved the range and quality of the writing so well done to the following children:

Hassan, Paige, George & Sarah (year 5)

Vardaan, Jasmine, Cillian & Ela (year 6)
