Year 3 and 4 Join Forces for the Loughton Scarecrow Trail!

This week, Year 3 and Year 4 have been busy working together on a very exciting community project – creating scarecrows for the Loughton Scarecrow Trail!

After sharing lots of ideas, they decided to bring to life characters from the much-loved Julia Donaldson story The Scarecrows' Wedding.

The children worked hard to recreate the story's memorable characters, carefully thinking about their costumes, features and accessories to make them instantly recognisable. From gathering materials to assembling the finished scarecrows, everyone played an important part in the project.

It has been wonderful to see the children collaborating across year groups. The project has also given them the opportunity to connect their learning with a local community event and celebrate a favourite children's author.

We hope you enjoy spotting their fantastic scarecrows as you explore the Loughton Scarecrow Trail! Be sure to keep an eye out for Betty O'Barley and Harry O'Hay along the trail!

We would love to hear what you think of their creations.
