    Science: Sound

This week, Year 4 will begin their exciting new Science topic: Sound!

As we start this unit, the children will be exploring how sound is made and thinking about where we hear different sounds in our everyday lives. They will have opportunities to listen carefully to a variety of sounds, including musical instruments, discussing their observations with their classmates.

The children will begin investigating vibrations and will use different sounds to help them notice how objects can vibrate. Through practical activities and scientific discussions, they will start to make connections between sound and vibrations.

Throughout the topic, the children will be encouraged to ask questions, make observations and think like scientists as they develop their understanding of how sound works.

We are looking forward to an exciting half term of investigations and discoveries as we learn more about the fascinating world of sound!
