On 1st October 2026, we celebrated National Poetry Day! To mark the occasion, our Year 5 children explored the wonderfully imaginative poem The Jumblies by Edward Lear. The children enjoyed learning the poem, developing their confidence and expression as they prepared to perform it. They then performed the poem amazingly, showing fantastic enthusiasm and creativity. As well as performing, the children created their own artwork inspired by The Jumblies, bringing the poem’s characters and adventures to life. It was wonderful to see the children enjoying poetry and sharing their creativity in so many different ways!
